Concert with Zachary Lupetin and friends
Tuesday 6/16 @ 6:30PM outside McConnell Dining Hall

We are thrilled to have special guest Zachary Lupetin of the Dustbowl Revival with us this summer. Guest Artist Recital with Aubree Oliverson 6/17 @ 1:30PM in Benson Auditorium

Join us on Wednesday, June 17th for a dazzling concert of works for violin with our Guest Artist Aubree Oliverson. She will perform works by Korngold, Saint-Saens and Faure. Students enrolled in chamber music in the PREP and Young Artist program will also get the opportunity to receive coaching with Ms. Oliverson on Wednesday afternoon.

This concert is sponsored by Charles W. Liu Fine Violins and attendees have a chance at winning a raffle for a gift certificate at their store. Visit the McConnell Living Room to enter this raffle.

What This Week Is Really About: How Suzuki Learning Actually Works with Charles Krigbaum

This opening talk sets the tone for the week by acknowledging the time, energy, and commitment it takes to be here. We’ll take a clear look at how Suzuki learning actually works—what you’ll see in action, how progress is built, and how parents can support that process effectively. The goal is to help families not only engage fully in the institute experience, but also carry what they learn here back into their daily practice at home.

This talk will meet Monday, June 15th at 4:30pm in the Gold Student Center MPR. This talk is for parents, please plan to drop-off children at Gold Center Yoga Student across the hall.

Mission Impossible: Positive Home Practice with Daniel Gee Cordova

Fitting in daily home practice might seem like an improbable task. No matter how much we plan and have factored into our thinking, things always go awry. In this talk, I would love to share the space and find ways to make practice happen and keep it positive even when things are not going as planned.

This talk will meet Tuesday, June 16th at 4:30pm in the Gold Student Center MPR. This talk is for parents, please plan to drop-off children at Gold Center Yoga Student across the hall.

From Battles to Breakthroughs: Empowering Parents to Foster Autonomy in Music Practice with Trina Carey Hodgson

From Battles to Breakthroughs: Empowering Parents to Foster Autonomy in Music Practice helps parents shift from power struggles to productive, independent learning. This session explores how to encourage self-directed practice, support musical growth without micromanaging, and model study habits that inspire autonomy. Learn strategies to transform practice sessions into collaborative, engaging experiences, ensuring your child develops confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong love for music.

This talk will meet Wednesday, June 17th at 4:30pm in the Gold Student Center MPR. This talk is for parents, please plan to drop-off children at Gold Center Yoga Student across the hall.

Fostering Creative Confidence in Children with Taylor Morris

Parents want it for their kids, schools say they foster it, and workplaces are looking to hire it. But, when people say “creativity,” what do they actually mean? And, what about in a domain like music? Come explore a pedagogical framework that will give you a philosophical grounding for working with and supporting your child, paired with tried-and-true approaches guaranteed to develop curiosity, confidence, and creativity

This talk will meet Thursday, June 18th at 4:30PM in the Gold Student Center MPR. This talk is for parents, please plan to drop-off children at Gold Center Yoga Student across the hall.
