Student Financial Aid Application

  • Applications must be received by February 10

  • Scholarships from LASI are need based and also take the programming needs of LASI into account.

  • Priority is given to students living within the Los Angeles area.

  • Scholarship amounts begin at $50.

  • Please note that no full tuition scholarships are awarded – you will be expected to supply the balance of tuition.

  • Those receiving LASI scholarship (or a parent if the awardee is less than 18 yr. old) may be asked to provide up to 10 hours of service to LASI before, during or after the institute. Work may involve administrative tasks, venue setup/teardown, piano accompanying, ushering, etc.

  • Applicants must submit the following by February 10:

    • Completed scholarship application

    • Pages 1 & 2 from your IRS tax form 1040 from the last submitted year - either scanned and emailed to lasi@smac-ca.org or mail to:

    • Video of the student performing uploaded onto YouTube (Please view instructions for submitting video to LASI)

    • Letter of recommendation from teacher (once application is submitted, your reference will receive an email with a link to fill in the reference form online). Please allow time for your reference to submit the recommendation form to LASI by the submission deadline.

    • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
